To the king, steeped in devotional meditation, Śiva manifests himself to bestow upon him the perfect wisdom of Yoga, the true knowledge of the essence of God and the Self, which removes the king from all sufferings and lifts him beyond all mortal cares; this is the wisdom which constitutes the “Bliss of the Life-monad.” It discloses the beatific identity of God with the innermost core of man's nature, the supra-individual life-monad (jīva).
