When the pupil has finished his apprenticeship, upon being recommended by his master, he receives his license from the king. On this occasion a sort of examination takes place. The pupil is asked to recite parts of the traditional texts which he knows by heart. However, this seems more or less a formality only, closing the term of his studies.
