tatra khagāḥ, yathā lalita-mādhave (10.16)-
kas tān paśyan bhavad-upahṛta-snigdha-piñchāvataṃsān
kaṃsārāte na khalu śikhinaḥ khidyate goṣṭhavāsī |
unmīlantaṃ nava-jaladharaṃ nīlam adyāpi matvā
ye tvām antar-mudita-matayas tanvate tāṇḍavāni //

Among these, birds, as in the Lalitamādhava (10.16): / Seeing them wearing head-ornaments of lustrous peacock feathers offered by you, / O enemy of Kaṃsa, which inhabitant of the cowherds' station is not sorrowful? / For, thinking you even now to be a newly arisen dark raincloud, / with delighted hearts they perform frantic dances.
