5.88

yathā-
srajaḥ kṣiptā dūre svayam upahṛtāḥ keśi-ripuṇā
priya-vācas tasya śruti-parisarānte'pi na kṛtāḥ |
namann eṣa kṣauṇī-viluṭhita-śikhaṃ praikṣi na mayā
manas tenedaṃ me sphuṭati puṭapākārpitam iva //

For example:
“The garlands offered by the enemy of Keśī himself were thrown far away;
his affectionate words were not brought even to the verge of my ears;
and as he bowed, his crest-feather rolling on the ground, he was not looked upon by me.
Because of this, my heart feels as if burst open, placed in an alchemical kiln.”
