dhīrantyaśabdaviṣayā vṛttavarṇāhitasmṛtiḥ
vākyamityāhurapare na śabdāḥ kṣaṇanaśvarāḥ //

Others say that a sentence is the cognition whose object is the final word,
bearing the memory produced by the preceding phonemes, not the words which perish in a moment.
