Here, although her body is worthy of ornaments, pain [arises] from the abandonment of ornaments indicated by her having uncollyriumed eyes. / But delight [arises] because the beauty to be brought about by ornaments is visibly seen due to being filled with natural loveliness. / By this, the connection with ornaments, though past because it is characterized by present posterior non-existence, is composed by the poet as if directly before the eyes by virtue of that excellence of form which is wondrous. / And in that very way it brings about aesthetic delight for connoisseurs. / "nānābharaṇaśobhayā": she in whom the beauty of ornaments is to be seen (īkṣaṇīyā) constantly, with excellence and strikingness; this is a possessive compound (bahuvrīhi).
