yathā-
snātā tiṣṭhati kuntaleśvara-sutā vāro' ṅga-rāja-svasur
dyūte rātrir iyaṃ jitā kamalayā devī prasādyādya ca |
ity antaḥ-pura-sundarīḥ prati mayā vijñāya vijñāpite
devenāpratipatti-mūḍha-manasā dvitrāḥ sthitaṃ nāḍikāḥ ||

As in: / "The daughter of the king of Kuntala has bathed and waits; it is the turn of the Anga king's sister; / this night was won by Kamalā at dice; and today the Chief Queen must be appeased." / Having thus ascertained concerning the beauties of the inner chambers, when I reported it, / the king, his mind bewildered with irresolution, remained still for two or three nāḍikās.
