yo naikavīroddalano' py asaṅkhya-
saṅkhyo' py abhagnātma-gati-kramo' pi |
ajāti-sāṅkarya-bhavo' pi citraṃ
dadhāti somānvaya-bhārgavāṅkam ||

Wondrously, he bears the epithet 'Bhārgava to the Lunar race', / though he destroys many a hero (unlike Paraśurāma who destroyed Naikavīra), is counted in countless battles (yet of countless wisdom), does not break the orderly course of his steps (never falling in battle), / and was born free of caste intermixture.
