varṣāsu tāsu kṣaṇa-ruk-prakāśā-
dgopāṅganā mādhavam āliliṅga |
vidyuc ca sā vīkṣya tad-aṅga-śobhāṃ
hrīṇeva tūrṇaṃ jaladaṃ jagāhe ||

"During those rains, the cowherd girl embraced Mādhava in the flash of a moment's gleam;
and seeing the beauty of his body, the lightning, as if ashamed,
quickly plunged into the cloud."
