Or as in:
"While your white fame, the foundation of virtues, shines completely full / and your majesty burns your enemies, O King Siṃha, / alas! Sage Kaṇāda, of utterly foolish intellect, declared that substances are only nine, / and divided light into only four kinds!"
2.194.p1
atra prauḍha-kavi-samaya-prasiddha-mārgānusāriṇo vaktuḥ parimita-dravya-vādini kaṇāde mahaty asūyā mūḍhatama-dhīr iti vāg-ārambheṇa vyajyate |
Here, on the part of the speaker who follows the path well known in the convention of mature poets, great envy toward Kaṇāda, who asserts a limited number of substances, is revealed by the opening utterance: 'of utterly foolish intellect.'
