atra harṣasya jarā-sahakāritva-kathanād ubhayānubhāvair api kampādibhir jarā-glāner eva prādhānyaṃ gamyate |

Here, since joy is spoken of as a companion to old age, the predominance of exhaustion through old age itself is understood, even through the consequents common to both, such as trembling.
