bībhatso' dbhuta-śṛṅgārī bībhatsābhāsa ucyate |
sa syād bhayānakābhāso raudra-vīropasaṅgamāt ||
The loathsome sentiment having [features of] the marvellous and the erotic is called a semblance of the loathsome; / that [sentiment] would be a semblance of the terrible owing to an admixture of the furious and the heroic."
