atha binduḥ-
phale pradhāne bījasya prasaṅgoktaiḥ phalāntaraiḥ |
vicchinne yad aviccheda-kāraṇaṃ bindur ucyate ||
Now, the drop: / When the seed towards the principal fruit is interrupted / by other secondary fruits mentioned incidentally, that which is the cause of non-interruption is called the drop.
