tatsamaṃ vardhayettasmātsārdhahastāvasānakam
janmanirgamamevoktaṃ padmanirgamamiṣyate
one should increase [it] equally from that, terminating at one and a half cubits; / this is declared for the projection of the plinth footing, and the projection of the lotus is desired [as follows]:
