vāsukī rajjudevātmā mānatadjñaiḥ pitāmahāḥ
taddhārya hastaṃ rajjuśca mānadaṇḍe tathaiva ca
Vāsuki is the deity of the measuring cord, [as stated] by the knowers of measurement, O grandfathers! / That [cord] should be held in the hand, and likewise along the measuring rod.
