mukhyaṃ bhūmiriti khyātaṃ vastvādīni catuḥsamam
vastubhedamiti proktaṃ dvijātyādiṣu varṇayet
The primary is known as the earth; the dwelling sites and the like are all four equal. / Thus the division of dwelling sites is declared; one should describe it among the twice-born and other classes.
