antyapaṅktidine tyājyaṃ vasumātramiti smṛtam
makarādau daśadine tyajedaṣṭāṅgulaṃ budhaḥ

on the days of the final ten-day period, eight digits should be discarded, so it is recorded; / the wise man should discard eight digits in the first ten days of Capricorn;
