8.1

udaya ravi śaśa aṅka prāṇi kendra ādi saṃsthāḥ/prathama vayasi madhye antye ca dadyuḥ phalāni/
na hi na phala vipākaḥ kendra saṃstha ādya bhāve bhavati hi phala paktiḥ pūrvam āpoklime api//(malīnī)

Those [planets] situated in the cardinal, succedent, and cadent houses from the strongest among the ascendant, the Sun, and the Moon
give their results in the first, middle, and late age;
for the maturation of results does not fail to occur; in the absence of [planets] in cardinal houses, the ripening of results indeed occurs earlier even in cadent houses.
