8.2

āyuḥ kṛtaṃ yena hi yat tad eva kalpyā daśa sā prabalasya pūrvām/
sāmye bahūnāṃ bahu varṣadasya teṣāṃ ca sāmye prathama uditasya//(indravajrā)

Whichever longevity was produced by whichever [planet], that very [measure] is to be reckoned as its planetary period; the first [period belongs] to the strongest;
when many are equal, to the one granting more years; and when they are equal, to the one that rose first.
