Moon Combinations
13.1
Humility, wealth, knowledge, intellect, and skill are low, middling, and supreme when the Moon is in a cardinal, succedent, or cadent house from the Sun;
by day or by night, when the Moon is in its own or a great friend's navāṃśa and aspected by Jupiter or Venus, one becomes wealthy and happy.
13.2
The Adhiyoga of the Moon is formed by benefics in the seventh, sixth, and eighth houses; in it occurs the birth of army commanders, ministers, and kings:
those born are endowed with happiness and power, have destroyed their enemies, enjoy long life, and are free from disease and fear.
13.3
Leaving out the Sun, Sunaphā, Anaphā, and Durudhurā are formed by planets occupying the second, the twelfth, and both [such houses] from the Moon; / but otherwise, by many an authority Kemadruma is declared. By others, however, / Kemadruma is not accepted when the Moon is in a cardinal house or conjoined with a planet; / some also speak of it in terms of cardinal houses and navāṃśas, but their statement is not celebrated.
13.4
There are thirty-one varieties designated Sunaphā and Anaphā; / threefold sixty [are the varieties] in Durudhurā. / Having brought them out in order through the options of permutations, when one has reached the end, a return is again another method.
13.5
One who has acquired wealth by himself, a king or equal to him, / intelligent, wealthy, and famous is born under Sunaphā; / a lord, free from disease, virtuous, of renowned fame, / enjoying pleasures of the senses, well-dressed, and serene under Anaphā.
13.6
One born under Durudhurā enjoys acquired pleasures and comforts, abounds in wealth and vehicles, / is generous, and has good servants; / under Kemadruma, even those born of a king's lineage are filthy, miserable, base, destitute, / menial servants, and wicked.
13.7
Mars produces one endowed with energy, valour, wealth, and daring; / Mercury, clever, sweet-spoken, and skilled in the arts; / Jupiter, possessing wealth, virtue, and happiness, and honoured by kings; / Venus, passionate, very wealthy, and an enjoyer of sensual pleasures;
13.8
Saturn, an enjoyer of another's wealth and possessions, an undertaker of many works, and a leader of a group. / The Moon with a visible form by day and wasted in body causes evil; / otherwise it is auspicious; and any other [combination] should be inferred.
13.9
From the ascendant, one becomes exceedingly wealthy; from the Moon, wealthy, / when all benefic planets are situated in upacaya houses; / with two [planets], moderate; and with fewer than that, possessing little wealth. / Even when other effects are absent, this [occurs] prominently.
