Non-human Birth.
3.1
When malefic planets are very strong, benefics are weak, and a neuter is in a cardinal house or aspects it, / one should declare the creature to be of a form corresponding to the dvādaśāṃśa occupied by the Moon, provided that sign is called non-human.
3.2
When the malefics are strong and in their own divisions, and the benefics are in another's division and weak, / and upon seeing that the ascendant too is of non-human designation, in this case also one should predict a non-human birth.
3.3
Aries is the head; Taurus is the face and neck; the remaining signs in order are the shoulders and forelegs, back, chest, flanks, / belly, anus and hindlegs, penis and testicles, and buttocks and tail: thus he has described the limbs of a quadruped.
3.4
From the navāṃśa of the ascendant or from the planet's conjunction and aspect, one should predict the colors of the strong planet in a non-human birth; / One should state stripes equal in number to the aspecting planets according to their count, and from those situated in the seventh house, [stripes] upon the back.
3.5
When a bird decan rises, or one conjoined with a strong planet, and the navāṃśa of a movable sign is rising, / or in a navāṃśa of Mercury, birds born on land or in water arise from the aspect or conjunction of Saturn and the Moon.
3.6
When the ascendant, the Moon, Jupiter, and the Sun are weak, a distinction of trees in water or on land is made by the navāṃśa born of the tree; / As many houses from the ascendant as the planet lord of a land or water sign is distant, just so many are the trees produced on land or in water.
3.7
The Sun produces [trees] solid within; the son of the Sun, [trees that are] withered; / the cold-rayed [Moon], [trees] possessing sap; and Mars, [trees] rich in thorns; / the lord of speech and Mercury, fruitful and barren [trees respectively]; and Venus, flowering trees; / the Moon, glossy [trees]; and the son of the earth again, bitter shrubs.
3.8
A benefic in a malefic sign produces a splendid tree growing on bad ground; otherwise, the reverse. / By as many foreign degrees as it has departed from its own, so many similar trees are produced.
