sitapakṣādau candre śubhe śubhaṃ pakṣam aśubham aśubhe ca/
kṛṣṇe gocaraśubhado na śubhaṃ pakṣa(kṣe) śubham atonyat//E3

When the Moon is benefic at the beginning of the bright fortnight, the fortnight is auspicious; when malefic, inauspicious; / in the dark fortnight, giving benefic results in planetary transit, it is not auspicious; in a [benefic] fortnight, anything other than this is auspicious.
