130. DPPN, s.v. brahmaloka: “The term Brahmakāyikā-devā seems to be used as a class name for all the inhabitants of the Brahma-realms.” [AN I 210: Kathañ ca Visākhe upakkiliṭṭhassa cittassa upakkamena pariyodapanā hoti? Idha Visākhe ariyasāvako devatānussarati—santi devā Cātummahārājikā, santi devā Tāvatiṃsā, santi devā Yāmā, santi devā Tusitā, santi devā Nimmānaratino, santi devā Paranimmitavasavattino, santi devā Brahmakāyikā, santi devā tatuttariṃ.] In our text here, however, the brahmakāyikā devāḥ correspond to the brahmaparisajjā devā in the Theravāda canon instead of being a collective term. In the following, translations of the names of devas other than our own are stated in the notes; we have consulted Walshe 1995, 39; Samtani 2002, pp. 98–99; and Gethin 1998, 116.
