「我父名淨飯，剎利王種，母名大清淨妙，王所治城名迦毗羅衛。」佛時頌曰：
“My father is named Śuddhodana, and he is from a lineage of warrior kings. My mother’s name is *Mahāmāyā, and the king rules from the city called Kapilavastu.”
