145. Tibetan ngan pa. We have added “of the Dharma” here. According to our interpretation, it becomes clear in this paragraph that ngan pa refers to people with poor or no understanding or knowledge of the Dharma, and that it must mean the opposite of knowing, following, and applying the Dharma (cf. Negi, 935, II, s.v. ngan pa, for ngan pa in the sense of Sanskrit ajñaḥ, “not knowing, devoid of knowledge; stupid, foolish,” etc.).
