34. The reader should keep in mind that these dates should not be accepted without skepticism, for much of the early history of Tibet and the history of the transmission of Buddhism to Tibet remains obscure, due to a lack of reliable historical sources. Also, we should not forget that this does not tell us anything about the history of the transmission of the Karmavibhaṅganāmadharmagrantha before its translation into Tibetan, let alone the history and geographical origin of its composition.
