śokā hi vai paridevitaṃ ca duḥkhaṃ ca lokasya hi naikarūpam |
priyaṃ pratītyeha tad asti sarvaṃ priye 'sati syān na kathaṃ cid etat ||

For griefs, lamentation, and the manifold suffering of the world—
All that exists here depending on what is dear; when what is dear does not exist, this could not occur in any way.
