na bhajetha pāpake mitre na bhajetha puruṣā 'dhame |
bhajetha praṃñe (prāṃña-) medhāvī bhajetha puruṣottame |
tārise bhajemānassa śreyo hoti na pāpiyo ||

205 Dhp78a-d,76ef / One should not associate with bad friends, one should not associate with base men; / one should associate with the wise and intelligent, one should associate with supreme men. / For one who associates with such as these, it is better, not worse.
