"Bhagavat! It is like a man who went to the house of a close friend, became drunk with wine, and lay down. At that time, the friend had official business to attend to; tying an invaluable jewel inside the man's garment, he gave it to him and departed. The man, lying drunk, was completely unaware. Having gotten up, he wandered off and reached another country. Seeking food and clothing, he strove diligently with great difficulty; if he obtained a little, he was satisfied with it. Later, his friend happened to meet him and said: 'Alas, good fellow! Why have you come to this for the sake of food and clothing? In the past, wishing to let you have ease and comfort and indulge freely in the five desires, on such-and-such a day of such-and-such a year and month, I tied an invaluable jewel inside your garment. It is still there now, yet you did not know it. Suffering hardship and worry to seek a livelihood, you are foolish indeed! You can now trade this jewel for what you need, and you can constantly have things as you wish, lacking nothing.'"
