The Buddha, knowing the thought in their minds, told Mahākāśyapa: 'To these twelve hundred arhats, I will now in person bestow vyākaraṇa for anuttarā samyaksambodhi in succession. In this assembly, my great disciple, the bhikṣu Kauṇḍinya, will make offerings to sixty-two thousand billion Buddhas, and afterward become a Buddha named Samantaprabhāsa, Tathāgata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Vidyācaraṇasaṃpanna, Sugata, Lokavid, Anuttara, Puruṣadamyasārathi, Śāstā Devamanuṣyāṇām, Buddha, Bhagavat. Those five hundred arhats—Uruvilvākāśyapa, Gayākāśyapa, Nadīkāśyapa, Kālodayin, Udāyin, Aniruddha, Revata, Kapphiṇa, Bakkula, Cunda, Svāgata, and the others—will all attain anuttarā samyaksambodhi, all with the identical title, named Samantaprabhāsa.'
