tasmācchubhaṃ durbalameva nityaṃ balaṃ tu pāpasya mahatsughoraṃ
tajjīyate 'nyena śubhena kena saṃbodhicittaṃ yadi nāma na syāt //
Therefore auspiciousness is always weak, whereas the power of demerit is great and terrifying. / By what other auspiciousness would it be overcome, if the awakening mind did not indeed exist?
