For the sake of gain and honor, he sells himself. On that account, he becomes an offender before all arhats, fully and perfectly awakened ones, bodhisattvas, and noble individuals belonging to the three times. He commits a very grave infraction. He deceives gods and men regarding the Mahāyāna. Even the Śrāvaka vehicle will not be his, let alone the attainment of the distinctive entry into the Mahāyāna, let alone unexcelled, perfect awakening!
