At that time the Bhagavat Vairocana surveyed the great assemblies and addressed the vajradhara Guhyakādhipati, saying: "Guhyakādhipati! There are ornaments identical to the Tathāgata and banners identical to the destiny of the dharmadhātu. Because bodhisattvas adorn their bodies with them, they travel throughout the various destinies while dwelling in saṃsāra, and in the great assemblies of all Tathāgatas they make these great bodhi banners their insignia, so that the devas, nāgas, yakṣas, gandharvas, asuras, garuḍas, kiṃnaras, mahoragas, humans, non-humans, and the like revere them, circumambulate them, receive their instructions, and practice them. Listen now attentively and reflect with utmost care; I shall now explain them." When he had spoken thus, Vajrapāṇi said: "Lord, now is indeed the time! Lord, now is indeed the time!"
Like white strands of milk and pearls, / crystal, and the light of the moon, / as streams of water / fall completely all around, / if the mantrin contemplates in mind, / one will be freed from all torment. / Being in equipoise, one should accomplish / these substances in this maṇḍala: / fresh butter, milk, and pearl garlands, / likewise a bull and crystal, / curd or water— / these and other substances / are accomplished to achieve various siddhis. / Prolonged lifespan, / a magnificently wondrous form, / freedom from all illnesses, / supreme good fortune, / sharp intellect, retentive capacity, / and exceedingly immaculate prajñā— / by means of these substances of accomplishment, / all of them will be swiftly achieved. / This glorious maṇḍala / is taught to be pacifying. / If provided with an anusvāra, / it becomes supreme for removing [faults]. / The syllable RA is the genuinely supreme, / called the light of the luminous ones. / By it, whatever actions there are, / even those arising from the five deeds of immediate retribution, / if the yogin contemplates them / in complete equipoise, they will all be exhausted. / Delightful and entirely red, / it abides in the manner of a triangle, / peaceful, dense with a garland of blazing light, / marked with a tripartite design, placed at the heart. / The yogin, having sat there, / should contemplate RA with the anusvāra. / Undaunted, appropriately, / one accomplishes those things with it. / The sun and all the planets, / and likewise, concentrating, fire, / and substances for subjugation, / or causing enmity, / desiccating, killing, / as well as driving away and injuring— / if this is applied together with fire, / it will perform all of them. / The syllable HA is the supreme sacred one; / all winds arise properly [from it]. / Cause, action, and effect, / and that by which seeds grow— / if this is applied with an anusvāra, / it destroys all of them. / Its form
