「若比丘，作新坐具，當取故者，縱廣一磔手，帖新者上，為壞色故。若比丘作新坐具，不取故者，縱廣一磔手，帖新者上壞色者，尼薩耆波逸提。
"When a bhikṣu makes a new sitting mat, he must take a piece of the old one, one vitasthi in length and breadth, and patch it onto the new one to spoil its appearance. If a bhikṣu makes a new sitting mat and does not take a piece of the old one, one vitasthi in length and breadth, and patch it onto the new one to spoil its appearance, it is a niḥsargika-pāyattika.
