"Recite the spell three times, knot three strands of three colours into seven knots, and tie it to the painful area. These phrases of the dhāraṇī were spoken by seventy-seven hundred million Buddhas of the past; I speak them now. If there are kings whose realms suffer from unseasonable floods and droughts and whose crops do not ripen, they should then recite this dhāraṇī seventy-seven times and call my name, Dṛḍhavīrya Bodhisattva, three times. I will then command the great nāga Anavatapta and Nāga Sāgara to instruct the lesser nāgas to provide sufficient water, making the kingdom abundant and fruitful. If epidemics spread in their realm and sentient beings are afflicted by disease and suffering in their bodies, I will then go to those persons and provide treatment and relief according to what has broken out. If there are sentient beings lacking wealth and property, I will bestow it upon them so that they lack nothing. If kings wish to seek their desires, they should cultivate this dhāraṇī: either within a stupa or in an open, quiet place, wash and bathe cleanly, put on new, clean clothes, uphold the eight precepts for seven days and seven nights, practice circumambulation during the six periods of the day, and in each period recite this dhāraṇī seven times. If the king's mind is pure and earnest, he will obtain what he desires within three days and three nights; reaching the seventh day at the latest, he will unfailingly bear fruit. Burn black agallochum and white sandalwood incense, scatter flowers of five colours, light lamps of sesame oil, and on the eighth, fourteenth, and fifteenth days of the month, call my name, Dṛḍhavīrya Bodhisattva, three times at that time. I will then go to that person's place with the devas, nāgas, and the rest of the eight classes, and grant him his wishes. If this person, whether in a dream or in an awakened state of mind, obtains precious jewels, sees a white elephant, or obtains fruits, they should know that at that time they have obtained what they desired." (Originally, there were twenty-nine lines of Mañjuśrī's Wusuzha Spell here, which are absent in the Dan edition. Since this spell is found in all editions after the spell of the wilderness ghost, and the two editions mistakenly placed it here again, it is now omitted here.)
