“I recall that in a past life I was born in Jambudvīpa,
And was once the daughter of a king, upright and peerless,
Greatly cherished by my royal father, named White Lotus.
Married to a neighbouring king, things did not go to my liking;
In rage I committed suicide and passed through the suffering of the three bad destinies,
And now have received the body of a nāga king. May all women
Loathe the posturing of women and no longer harbor jealousy,
Lest hereafter they suffer the agony of venomous nāgas, when deliverance from suffering will be hard to find!”
