This dhāraṇī-mantra was spoken by seventy-seven koṭis of Buddhas, and I now have finished speaking it. The power of this dhāraṇī can cause the earth of the great trichiliocosm to shake and crack open, and sentient beings within it will naturally surge forth. I will then immediately use my power of great wisdom to gather and place them all together in one place, and wash away their dust and defilements with the cool Dharma water of meditative concentration, wiping, dusting, and soothing their minds, just as a monk enters the third dhyāna. Then, according to whether their faculties are sharp or dull, to those who ought to attain anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi, I will bestow it upon them all according to their stages; if they are śrāvakas who ought to attain the four fruits of śramaṇahood, I will bestow them successively to fulfill their wishes. If practitioners copy, read, and recite these dhāraṇī phrases, the four hundred and four diseases in their present body, broken precepts, five heinous sins, sins obstructing the Path, and slight misfortunes from past lives will all be eliminated without remainder. By the majestic spiritual power of me, Mahāsthāmaprāpta Bodhisattva, I will cause the cultivation of these practitioners to become increasingly superior and all to be accomplished. Practitioners in their places of birth will attain the knowledge of past lives, fully penetrating without hindrance through a hundred lives, a thousand lives, or a hundred thousand koṭis of lives, as though looking at an āmalaka fruit in the palm of the hand. If they wish to attain retention upon hearing, revolving dhāraṇī, or total retention; if they wish to attain the four unhindered eloquence to preach the Dharma; if they wish to attain the ten powers of a Buddha and four fearlessnesses; or if they wish to cultivate the thirty-two marks and eighty minor signs of a Buddha, they will quickly accomplish them. If they wish to attain the vajra-samādhi, surpass the ten stages, and enter the true rank of Buddhahood, they should copy, read, recite, and cultivate this dhāraṇī during the six periods of day and night without ever neglecting or forgetting it, purely uphold the precepts, eat no five pungent roots, wine, or meat, have few desires, know contentment, and cultivate straightforward conduct. Because of this dhāraṇī, no amanuṣya will be able to trouble or annoy them. I will then, together with Śakra, Brahmā, and the Four Heavenly Kings, go to the dwelling place of this person to soothe their mind and cause what they cultivate to increase and expand day by day.
