These dhāraṇī phrases were spoken by past seventy-seven koṭis of Buddhas; I now speak them. If there are kings whose realm experiences unseasonable floods and droughts and whose grains do not ripen, they should at that time recite this dhāraṇī seventy-seven times and call my name, Dṛḍhavīrya Bodhisattva, three times. I will then command the great nāga-kings Anavatapta and Sāgara, causing the lesser nāgas to provide abundant water, so that the country becomes fertile and prosperous. If pestilence and epidemics spread within the country and sentient beings are afflicted by diseases, I will then go to their places and treat and rescue them according to their specific ailments. If sentient beings lack wealth and material goods, I will bestow them so that they lack nothing. If kings wish to seek what they desire, they should practice this dhāraṇī: either in a stūpa or in an empty and quiet place, having bathed and washed clean and put on new, clean clothes, they should uphold the eight precepts for seven days and seven nights, circumambulate the path during the six periods of the day, and in each period recite this dhāraṇī seven times. If the king's mind is sincere and earnest, he will obtain his wish in three days and three nights; at the very most, within seven days, the result will unfailingly be achieved. Burn black agarwood incense and white sandalwood incense, scatter flowers of five colors, light sesame-oil lamps, and on the eighth, fourteenth, and fifteenth days of the month, call my name, Dṛḍhavīrya Bodhisattva, three times. I will then go to that person's place together with the devas, nāgas, and the rest of the eight classes, and grant them their desire. Whether in a dream or in a waking state, if this person obtains rare jewels, sees a white elephant, or receives fruits, they should know that at that time their wish has been fulfilled.
