Ratnacandraprabha Bodhisattva now wishes to speak a dhāraṇī-mantra / to eliminate the sins of dhyāna-samādhi, / and remove all defilements and obscurations; / illnesses of the five aggregates and four great elements / are all entirely dispelled. / For immeasurable kalpas sentient beings / have been unable to cultivate dhyāna-samādhi; / therefore they have long drifted / and submerged in the ocean of birth and death. / Tossed on the waves in the flow of birth and death, / none are able to awaken to it. / Because I pity these beings, / I now wish to speak a dhāraṇī-mantra / to remove the defilements of their three poisons, / uproot their feet of ignorance, / illuminate them with the mirror of wisdom, / grant them the water of dhyāna-samādhi, / grow the sprouts of bodhi, / and bring them to the shore of nirvāṇa. / There is a mantra named *Uge*, which in the language of Jin means 'removing the defilements of dhyāna-samādhi, dispelling sins that obstruct the Path; all māras, evil spirits, and ghosts can be eliminated.'
