有七事不應止：一者鬧門間、二者屠殺處、三者祠祀處、四者橋下、五者橋頭、六者四徼道、七者空閑處。此七處，惡鬼所止處。

There are seven places where one should not stay: first, between busy gates; second, slaughterhouses; third, sacrificial shrines; fourth, under bridges; fifth, at the foot of bridges; sixth, four-way crossroads; seventh, open wastelands. These seven places are where evil ghosts dwell.
