When entering the room in the evening, there are five matters: first, when wishing to enter, one should pause, snap the fingers three times, and then enter, not causing the door to make a sound; second, if the shoes are soiled with mud, one should take them off and remove them outside; third, one should properly take off the kāṣāya according to the rule and place it in its regular location; fourth, one should take the shoes, wipe them clean, and put them in a secluded spot; fifth, having done so, one should wash, step back, and rest according to one's wish.
