行至人家讀經有五事：一者當四人俱。二者往當隨次如法坐。三者當視因緣，可讀經不？不可讀經不？四者若坐席人不欲聞經，當退止。五者若座中有醉者、惡言形相經者，不應復讀。

There are five matters when going to someone's home to recite sūtras: first, four people must go together; second, on arrival, they must sit in proper sequence according to the Dharma; third, one must observe the conditions, whether it is suitable to recite sūtras or not suitable to recite sūtras; fourth, if the people on the seating mats do not wish to hear the sūtras, one should withdraw and stop; fifth, if among the gathering there are drunken persons, or those who speak ill of and mock the sūtras, one should not recite further.
