1.84

復有五事：一者作師當自持戒；二者設弟子衣被破敗，當能給與；三者弟子病瘦，當能瞻視；四者當致布施，分別為說罪福；五者十歲應作和上，所知當具悉。

There are another five matters: first, as a master, he should himself uphold the precepts; second, if a disciple's robes and bedding are ruined, he should be able to provide them; third, if a disciple is sick and emaciated, he should be able to tend to him; fourth, he should attract alms and distinguish and explain karmic retribution and merit; fifth, at ten years [of seniority] he should serve as an upādhyāya, and what he knows must be completely mastered.
