1.86

復有五事：一者當教誡；二者當教稍稍受；三者當教知戒；四者當教持戒；五者當教隨和上，十歲盡所知事。

There are another five matters: first, he should instruct and admonish; second, he should teach [disciples] to receive [the teachings] gradually; third, he should teach knowledge of the precepts; fourth, he should teach the upholding of the precepts; fifth, he should teach [the disciple] to follow his upādhyāya for ten years, mastering all matters of knowledge.
