2.74

燃燈有五事：一者當持淨巾拭中外令淨；二者當作淨炷；三者當自作麻油；四者著膏不得令滿，亦不得令少；五者當護令堅，莫懸妨人道污人。是直日法，如上行之得福。右六十事直日所行。

Lighting lamps has five matters: first, one must hold a clean cloth and wipe the inside and outside so that it is clean; second, one must make a clean wick; third, one must prepare the sesame oil oneself; fourth, in adding oil, one must not let it brim over, nor let it be too little; fifth, one must secure it firmly and not suspend it where it obstructs people's paths or soils people. These are the rules for the duty monk; practicing them as stated above brings merit. The above sixty matters are what the duty monk should practice.
