問：「規至某方結坐，有礙不達得進，得遙結坐不？」答：「不得。正可到彼結後坐，若道路有僧住處，便應就坐結。二三日治房室，然後受三十九日得去。若無僧住處，五人以上共結界坐，然後留一二人守界，滿三十九日乃得去。若後人不滿三十九日去者，前去人不知不失坐，後人失。」

Question: "If one intends to go to a certain place to bind the retreat, but is obstructed and cannot proceed, may one bind the retreat from afar?" Answer: "One may not. One may only bind the later retreat upon arriving there. If there is a saṅgha residence along the road, one should promptly proceed to bind the retreat there. After repairing the rooms for two or three days, one may then take thirty-nine days' [leave] and depart. If there is no saṅgha residence, five or more people must bind a sīmā together and enter the retreat, and then leave one or two people to guard the sīmā; only after the thirty-nine days are fulfilled may they depart. If the later persons depart before the thirty-nine days are fulfilled, the persons who departed earlier do not lose the retreat if they did not know; the later persons lose it."
