問：「既至某方結坐，有礙不達，得進遙結坐不？」答：「不得。正可到彼結後坐。若道路有僧住處，便應就坐住，二三日治房室，然後受三十九日去。若無僧住處，五人以上共結界坐，然後坐留一二人守界，滿三十九日乃得去。若後人不滿三十九日去者，前去人不知不失坐，後人失。」

Question: "Having set out for a certain place to enter the retreat, if there is an obstacle and one cannot reach it, may one proceed to enter the retreat from afar?"
Answer: "One may not. He should precisely go there to enter the later retreat. If on the road there is a dwelling place for the saṃgha, he should forthwith proceed there to enter the retreat and stay, repair the rooms for two or three days, and then receive the thirty-nine-day rule before leaving. If there is no dwelling place for the saṃgha, five or more people should together establish a sīmā and enter the retreat, and then, after entering the retreat, leave one or two people behind to guard the sīmā; only after completing thirty-nine days may they leave. If the later people leave before completing thirty-nine days, and the people who went ahead did not know of it, they do not lose the retreat; the later people lose it."
