問：「若人先許佛三會，然後作一會，或三行香、或三布施，得了不？」答：「不得。自違言獲罪。」

It was asked, "If a person previously promised the Buddha three gatherings, but later holds only one gathering, or makes three rounds of incense offering, or three acts of giving, is it fulfilled?" It was answered, "It is not fulfilled. Going back on one's word incurs an offence."
