問：「戒律不用流落，得燒不？」答：「不得。不知有罪，燒犯墮。若知燒有罪，故燒犯決斷。與方便破僧同，亦如燒父母。」

Question: "If a Vinaya [text] is not in use and is in decay, may one burn it?" Answer: "One may not. Burning it without knowing it is a transgression constitutes an offence of pātayantika. If one knows that burning it is a transgression and deliberately burns it, it constitutes an offence of defiance of admonition. It is the same as expedient means to cause a schism in the saṅgha, and is also like burning one's parents."
