問：「比丘要與佛作，得食佛食不？」答：「不得。比丘無客作之理，何況取佛物衣食用耶！」

Question: "If a bhikṣu makes an agreement to work for the Buddha, may he eat the Buddha's food?" Answer: "He may not. There is no principle allowing a bhikṣu to be hired for labor; how much less taking the Buddha's property for food and clothing!"
